Belgium

Again I've received a postcard, and this time it comes from our southern neighbours Belgium. :)

You see on the card there stand the god Ganesh. Ganesh (Ganesha or Ganapati Tantra) is the pantheon of the Hinduism the goddnes with an elephant head. He's the god of knowledge and wisdom, taking obstacles and is the panton saint of travelers. Hindus pray to Ganesh for them to start something new, like a new job or when they're moving. Ganesh is the son of Shiva and Parvati. He rides a mouse or a rat.

Since Ganesh was very young he was a person that want's to be alone. Because the reason that Shiva (his dad) was carried a war. Shiva hasn't the change to know his son better. After years of war and fighting Shiva returned to Parvati (his wife) and Ganesh. When he comes home he saw an intruder, and because he is sanguineous, he decapitated the intruder immediatly.

But it was too late, to saw that the intruder was his own son. He don't recognized his own son, because he saw him to little. Shiva ordered his servants to bring the head of the first and the best living being, and the servents came back with an elephant head. Shiva brings the elephant had on the body of his own lifeless son,  who came back to life and made history and would remembered as the demi-god with the elephant head.

The stamp the belgium writer is an official stamp they use for international mail all over the world. :) It's a cute one with a little angel inside, painted by an little kid I think. It's so sweet.
